How to Buy a Horse Workshop

How to Buy a Horse
Everyone wants a horse or at least it seems that way.  I don’t know if I have come across a single person that hasn’t wanted a horse, owns a horse, loves horses and of course hates horses.  I will be honest, I have been a part of all of them.  The biggest obstacle is finding the horse that is right for you.  On July 7th the Wise County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Horse committee will host a program at NRS Feed Store on “How to Buy a Horse” from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Speaker, Dennis Sigler, Ph.D. Professor, Extension Horse Specialist, with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will discuss how to buy a horse.   Dr. Sigler will talk about several subjects to help you make the decision that is right for you including:

1.         Where do I go to look for good horses;
2.         Basic conformational considerations in evaluating a potential purchase;
3.         Behavior and training considerations; and
4.         What do I need to know about caring for the horse once I get the horse.

Come see us on the evening of July 7th and enjoy a dinner sponsored by NRS Feed Store and learn the important steps to owning your own horse.  The cost for the program will be $10 per person, (18 and under are free).

Please RSVP to the Wise County Extension Office by July 5th at 206 S. State St., Decatur, Texas or by calling 940-627-3341.
